“My Facebook Ads don’t work…”
If I had a dollar for all the times I hear this in groups and conversations on a daily basis, I’d be a Billionaire by the end of this week. Let’s not forget that the internet started off as a free enterprise, It still is but, for optimum results, you have to invest in order to get a return. Now that that is out of the way, let’s have a look at why your ads are not producing a result that you wish for.
Facebook Advertising isn’t rocket science. Well, at least the last time I checked. It was invented by some college drop out and I think you are listed with, “some college or university and above” right? That means you are even smarter!
Yes, there could be smarter guys that have come up with best practices and how-tos, etc. I will have you know, Facebook asks Seasoned Marketers for opinions on what works and what they should do next. So there clearly is no rocket science involved.

Whenever I hear that Facebook ads don’t work… it’s typically 1 of 5 reasons.
1). They haven’t tested anything and have turned it off as soon as they spent $100 without favorable results.
Solution: Stop being stupid… if you only have $100 to spend on Facebook Ads, go build your business some more and come back when you have a business to advertise on Facebook. You need a lot of patience.
2). You’re trying to attract the wrong people to the wrong offer at the wrong time.
Solution: Think about this… you are INTERRUPTING someone’s day on Facebook when you are advertising, meaning that if you are trying to get them to take action on something with a HIGH-OBLIGATION, LOW-PERCEIVED REWARD… well guess what’s going to happen. No conversions. Lots of money spent. remember people are living their lives at the time your ad might be in their news feed,they might be driving, or chasing Pokemon, Or their phone battery is almost low, so they are only looking at important adverts at that time. Their life does not have to stop because you are losing money on your ads.
3). You’re targeting the wrong people with the wrong message
Solution: This is almost like the last one, however, it’s more based on the fact that you don’t know your customer and your landing page, offer, and Facebook ad aren’t coherent to the person you’re trying to attract. I always m,mention this, Not everyone is your customer, so when you figure out who your avatar is, it then becomes easy to tailor your message to them and you would know that your avatar is on a train ride at 4 pm because that’s the time they go to the gym. Heck if you really want to spray and pray, set your ads to only target before 7am when everyone is in bed!
4). You swiped right, now you’re ready to Netflix and Chill
Solution: Stop trying to take things so damn fast… you have to build a relationship with someone… show that you’re valuable, that you can be trusted, that you’re there to help them. (this isn’t just for Facebook, but for all online marketing) People do business with those they know like and trust. If you have had people looking at your ad, have a pixel in place so you can retarget, as said before, life is happening around your prospects and studies show that people respond to an ad after having seen it 6-9 times. So have some patience.

It’s simply the fact that your marketing funnel is based on a methodology that worked 5 years ago. You aren’t being relevant to the person you’re trying to attract. And when that happens…

This stuff isn’t hard. Simply start creating experiences for HUMANS not robots. Robots don’t pay well. If all else fails, get someone that knows what they are doing to help out.
