It’s almost impossible to survive as a small business in the modern world without some kind of online marketing strategy, even if that’s just a website and a basic social media presence.
Assuming you could build up enough foot traffic and reputation in the physical world, you’ll still have to deal with competitors who offer everything you do, plus the online visibility component.
Here’s the video:
UPDATE: It seems not only Instagram and Massplanner who have been forced to close their service, but also other lesser-known bot sites.
Not so long ago, one of the most popular social media bot services— has been forced to discontinue their service at the request of Instagram.
A lot of people suffered from this move, especially social media marketers who utilize these kinds of automation services to save time and hack the growth of their Instagram accounts.
At the time, everyone went on the lookout for a reliable Instagram bot alternative. One of the most popular alternatives and arguably the best social media automation software on the Internet was the number choice for many social media marketers.
MassPlanner allows users to automate their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin, Google+ and Tumblr accounts for 24/7. (More than any other social media bot service!)
But not anymore, MassPlanner has been shut down at the request of Instagram today (May 13, 2017)!
This is what you will see when you go to their website:
Due to Instagram cracking down on two of the most popular social media bots on the Internet in less than one month—the future of Instagram automation bots is unclear. It will not be a surprise anymore If Instagram decided to crack down on other social media bot services. In fact, many social media experts suspect this to be the case in the near future.
These types of social media bot services provide marketers and businesses with the ability to automate and grow their social media accounts for 24/7 while performing the below functionalities:
- Following/Unfollowing users
- Liking posts
- Scheduling posts
- Commenting on posts
- Sending direct messages
- Blacklist/whitelist users
- Targeting users by hashtags, location, etc
- Running mutiple accounts
Not to mention the time that you get to save while using these bots. However, it seems Instagram doesn’t necessarily agree with that…
It’s important to realize that these bot services (Instagress & MassPlanner) we’re very popular, established, and reliable among social media marketers—Yet, Instagram managed to shut them down; which means that other bot services will not be risk-free anymore and they’re probably praying to not be next.
Not only bot services who are worried about these brutal ”shutdowns” by Instagram, social media marketers are also worried about what to do next. (It seems that alternatives may also not last for long, and are not immune to Instagram’s legal strikes).
The only remaining options for Instagram marketers to grow their accounts and promote their business are no more than:
- Growing their accounts organically
- Paying for ads
Unfortunately, both options seems to cost a lot of time and money. Bot services we’re much more effective, reliable, and faster than the above two options. But it looks like they’re not going to be an option any longer.
The only thing left to say at this current events is… ”Who’s next?”

Everyone agrees on the fact that:
Referrals are the most effective, and cost-effective way to generate new business, yet asking for referrals can feel awkward.
You really could use some more clients but you don’t want to come across as desperate or pushy.
Over the past year, I’ve been focusing my business on getting referrals.
We’ve found that when a person is referred over to our business, they are 3x more likely to use our product after 90 days than someone who wasn’t referred.
We all know that email marketing is essential for most businesses online.
“If you’re running a real business, email is still the most effective way to universally reach people who have expressed interest in your product or site. For that, it really can’t be beat.” – Colin Nederkoorn, founder Customer.IO
For this reason, the majority of online marketers already have an email marketing strategy in place.
The only problem? Most beginner email marketers and even the pros aren’t sure which email marketing service to choose.
After all, If you choose the wrong email marketing service – you could end up with a lot of technical issues that could affect your sales and conversions.
This is why most online business owners choose MailChimp as their main email marketing service of choice.
MailChimp is arguably the most popular and widely-used email marketing service on the Internet. (According to MailChimp, more than 15 million users and businesses use MailChimp)
It’s the #1 choice of most online businesses because it’s:
- Free for up to 2000 subscribers
- User-friendly, and simple
- Have all the features that you need (automation workflows, segmentation, etc)
But there has always been one problem with their forever free plan: No automated follow-ups or automation workflows!
This was a deal breaker for so many people who couldn’t afford to invest in an email marketing software. Why?
Because email marketing automation is very important for nurturing leads and increasing conversion rates.
MailChimp allows you to only send 1 automated e-mail to your mailing list in their free plan: A double-opt-in confirmation email. (that’s terrible, right?)
But not anymore, yesterday (May 2, 2017) – MailChimp announced that all 21 of their e-mail marketing automation features are made available for free for all users!
”We’re excited to announce that our powerful marketing automation features are now free for all MailChimp users! No matter what type of plan you’re on—Forever Free, Monthly, Pro, or Pay As You Go—you can now send personalized automations at no extra cost.” says on the company’s blog post.
Email marketing automation allows you to send email campaigns, abandoned cart emails, order notifications, birthday reminders and other types of emails automatically.
This is happy news for online marketers who don’t have a large mailing list or don’t yet have the budget to use the sophisticated capabilities of marketing automation.
”we want to give everyone—no matter their account type or list size—the opportunity to use our marketing automation tools to do just that.” – says MailChimp in their blog post.
In 2017, online business owners of all sizes have started to realize the potential of marketing automation in e-mail marketing.
The old model of e-mail marketing is no longer enough to scale your online business.
Automation makes your e-mail marketing simpler and easier to engage and follow-up with your customers. As well as save you a lot of time automating the process. (Enabling you to grow your business even when you’re away from your computer)
Thus, you can work once – automate the entire process; and focus on other parts of your online business such as acquiring new customers.
It used to be that if you had an online business, your website is the equivalent of a shopping window. Now, this holds even true if you have a brick and mortar store.
And just like in a physical store, not all is created equal.
Some shelves, or in our case pages, are more important than others.
You probably heard about the 80/20 rule or Pareto principle before.
20% of your efforts will bring in the results while 80% of your efforts are just there for filler or worse as a distraction to your readers.
So how do you apply this to your website?
Which pages are more important than others?
And to which pages should you be paying the MOST attention to get the quickest and best results for your business?
Facebook offers powerful tools which are easy to learn and unmatched for defining and reaching your audience on their terms.
Social media ads are the norm for entrepreneurs both as consumers and business owners, so it’s a safe guess that most entrepreneurs realize the power and reach of Facebook’s targeting capabilities.
Maybe you’ve tried Facebook advertising but it wasn’t as effective as you hoped, or maybe you’re a believer who wants to take your ads to the next level.
No matter what stage your startup is in, you’ll want to start or continue to grow your social media audience.
The more people you can reach on social media organically and through advertising, the better your launch and your on-going sales will be.
Taking your business to the next level is a step-by-step process.
Setting proper goals is necessary for anyone who’s serious about scaling their business, making more money, producing more products or achieving any other dream. They need to be smarter goals and there needs to be powerful reasons behind why those goals absolutely must be achieved.
By creating a plan, taking action and staying persistent no matter what, you can leverage the following strategies and methods to scale your business. It’s not easy. No one ever said it would be. But it is well worth it.
