Social media space will always involve something new — additional features and update announcements seem to pop up every day. To help you stay up-to-date about recent and upcoming changes, we’ve gathered a rundown of the “in-test mode” features major platforms are currently developing.
Job Listings on Facebook Pages
Facebook is currently trying out a job listing section on some of their Pages. Matt Navarra shares that Facebook Pages will be able to choose a new “Jobs” tab in the “Manage Tab” section of their page. This feature is an indication that Facebook is trying to map out LinkedIn’s design and make it their own.
Facebook’s Data Science team has been doing research on career-related insights using their interest graph. They introduced this new feature, which connects to their new professional platform called Workplace.
Pinterest’s Pin Collective
Pinterest has been aiming to be a more feasible selection of brands by presenting an array of advertising features and tools. The updates will allow businesses to display their services and products to the 150 million active users.
To further capitalize on their new updates, the social platform showcased Pin Collective. The feature gathered hand-picked independent creators, publishers and production shops that understand the factors of what makes content effective on Pinterest. Through this feature, they can work with creators directly to learn about the insights on how to use the platform wisely and build Pin content that lures clients.
Instagram Live
A Russian news site reported that Instagram is trying to build a new live-streaming feature into Instagram Stories. This wouldn’t be a surprise because CEO Kevin Systrom already hinted in August that they want their own version of Facebook’s Live. They are currently trying to determine how they can differentiate this new feature from what other platforms are offering.
Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest are coming out with extra features. It doesn’t matter if the updates are small, since they may still be essential to your business. So, make sure you keep an eye out for these upgrades. If you don’t have enough time to update your social platforms, we’re always here to lend a hand.
